You will see by Mr. Myaoka's letter
which I enclose with my other one, that
he is making sure that we forget none
of our social obbligations. They have
been so very kind in every way
and have taken so much trouble to
see that we do this[?] thevies. After
we peruse our lessons this weekend we
will attend to our "social obligations."
Sunday night we took Edith Eddy
Mariani and her husband to a
[?] supper at the Tokyo Raileau?,
where Mrs Myaoka took me. They
had never eaten with chopsticks
before and seemed to love the experience
It was few and they are awfully
nice. He is next in office to the
Ambassador at the Italian Embassy.
I think he's called a councilor or
conselor or something. Edith has D
call on all the ladies of the diplomatic
court, but says she enjoys meeting
the different ones. She is having a
baby next month, so isn't expected
to do very much in a social way
as yet, and this week they are moving.
