Monday mornings we were rather late were sitting a moment in the lobby when the Japan Advertiser reporter came up and we had to give him a long interview, which came out rather well.
He had lived in the states 20 years or so and so understood English.
Then later a man who knew Dr. Ishikawa's son came up.
He also from some paper, and he bought a copy of the Japanese paper with my picture and translated it for us.
I was much relieved to find that it was all right.
never mentioned the [Mi..akos] in any way.
In fact couldn't have been [w.....] much better.
I believe Mr. [........] has sent you the clipping.

Lucy Kerr and Mr. & Mrs. [Deluth?] then came for lunch with us and a Mr. Bailey.
He had lots of fun and in the afternoon went sleuthing for materials they wanted.
Lucy goes back up the boat.
We also tried to call on Mr. [Hatta?] but he was out and we couldn't make them understand.
We had a [Sekiyaki?] supper for them at the Tokyo Taikeu, which they seemed to enjoy very much.
They are such a nice couple and have given us a lot of information about the places we will go to.

Tuesday we got the boy at the desk who has been so nice about visitors addresses to telephone Dr. Ishikawa & see when we might call on him.
It worked very well and Dr. Ishikawa came about eleven to call on us.
He is such a fine old gentleman and has such a beautiful head.
After talking a moment he suggested we lunch with him at a place famous for ["sleuths"?] or something like that.
He started off and walked quite a way along the [g.iza?].
He took us to Mikimoto's, where Mr. [Miyoka?] also had taken us, but no one would have known had the head man not remembered.
However we were shown the movies which were most interesting and also given tea.and Dr. Ishikawa is going to tell us now to go rest.
One of the pearl [fa...] or whatever they are called.
We finally landed up at a tiny little place.
Very simple and had the most
