but such a lovely soft blue [?]. The [?] around there are
what we would call truck [?], and all around new [?]

towards a beautiful avenue of new tall pine trees. Typically
Japanese in character. I could hardly believe they could be so
like the pictures. Little [?] houses on either side of the
road. a bit muddy outside but the porch and? [?] as clean
as could be. We walked down the [?] avenue of Trees which led
to a temple. It was a typical country temple so we were told and
[?] the [?] light quite lovely. There were buildings [?] the
old roofs. Some [?]. A priest saying prayers for we could
[?] is [?] [?] some where inside one of the buildings.
There were two small cottages inside the [?] where [?]
[?] some one [?] and then beyond to the {SCRIBBLE} left under tall
pine trees and maples was the gong under a [?]
roof. It was like a fall with rather straight sides and
[?] [?] by a large tree by their piece of wood. about

so that one and almost touch the [?] gong. but can
be pulled away backwards, and [?] go [?] and it naturally

One building much larger than the rest was in the center of
the [?] and in this was a very lovely shrine. We
went up the flight of steps (or rather a slanting runway
wither [?] nailed across for steps) and [?] in the [?]
open door. It was fairly dark. building [?] around the
side. in the very center the shrine.. not so [?] some
Catholic alters. Beautiful gold candlesticks etc. there was
quite a lot of old painted carvings on the alters and beams.
On the post there was the largest and ugliest variety of
[?] {SCRIBBLE]. clock. Light brown wooden case with [?]
[?] and at least four on five fat in [?] It did
