Ellen, Caroline + I swim
+ return to camp, crossing
several small streams
on logs. Sleep in cheese
box for first time as no
other tent is up. Bridge
and large fire in front
of tent. Walk to lake w. {vertical text: 'Tenementers'?}
Thurs 20. Lay over at Water fowl
Lake [dash] Caroline, Ellen, Made {hyphenated name: 'Madelaine'}
laine, Mr. T. Jim, Charlie + I
climb peak with 2 turrets
to left, no water till we
reach spring at end of
[timber?] + shale climb.
Lunch there + rock climb
begins. very rotten rock
