{top center} 11 then when got over the ridge we went down such a steep trail nit it was almost harder than going up hill. We rested frequently as the boys packs were really too heavy for such a trip. I didn't feel as much sympathy for Vic as after all he should have has a map but still we did feel he felt badly about it himself. At quarter of ten we reached the creek below the camp and then there was a steep climb up and we were here a little after 10.30 it was quite a days trop and we don't intend to do it again. What we do want to is to go into Parch? Valley which is an hours walk from Moraine? Lake. Then we will camp there a day of two. We can go down for food for us. It was really a great experience yesterday and we probably went into country that few people see and it was lovely. We thought we'd arrive in the midst of the party and they would all have given up expecting us and then we would come.

{top center} 14 look after Aunt [?] who I'm sure wou;d want you to do whatever would help you. I believe worrying is the worst wurse in the world. Barbaras mother Mrs Carpenter has what they call a back and whenever she worries of feels badly about anything it foes to her back and she is sick in bed and can hardly more, yet there is nothing really [?] it all comes from being nervous. I imagine most people who have troubles like that get them from being nervous and yet you never can seen to tell them thats what it is. I hope Mrs Carpenter feels better for there is [?] little she will be able to do here if she feels that way.

I'm so glad Eileen and the baby are getting on well. What [?] Aunt Julie will have. It is five [?] is doing so well. I thought that they were devoted to [?] on Beacon Hill but I imagine they may be tired of the city and if Edith isn't going to keep on at the

{top center} 15 bank I imagine she will want more of a place to look after. We really do pretty well with what house work is done but in Bauff a maid seems more [?] than she is worth. Also Bauff is a very [?] sort of place in a way and you can imagine how stories could travel. I think the best thing we could do would be to build a combination studio garage and workroom on the other [?]. Then have a little hourse some where for a couple to live in. The man could do all sorts of odds hobs which there are round a place and maybe in a garden and then the women could clean bake and wash up also a little laundry and yet we could live in much the same way we do now only it would give us more time.

This seems to be quite a love letter. I had thought of sending Zella a check but if you think she would rather have silver I would love to join you. Fern
