and look out over the windward side
of the island (A ridge of mountains
runs across the island) It is the
most beautiful view and with
some rain clouds there were peculiar
effects and we saw a good many
rainbows before we got back. The
roock formations are rather weird
and queer being lava rock, but
the slopes are nice, and the sea
is lovely being deep blue in the
deep water and even where the
bottom is sandy. Then the fields
of sugar cane are a beautiful green.
