{Top centre: "7"} the semi finals but bent a nail and was put out by the winner. they had a shaving contest where women shaved men with spoons. the lather made an awful mess though but it was funny. They also made the women give men baby bottles of milk but the men were poor suckers. One race was awfully amusing for the men. they had a chair for each person at either side of the room, and the race was to dash across, pick up a bean on the end of a regular straw by sucking through the straw and holding the bean by suction, then running back

{Top centre: "8"} and putting it in a saucer on the other chair. It was funny for they kept dropping the beans and had to get down on their knees to pick it up again.

Then they had a goose step where cushions are placed about two feetapart across the room, then the girls were blind folded and were to jump over the cushions and the person who touched the fewest cushions won. After they were blind folded the cushions were removed except the first one, and then the stewards took each girl by the arm and helped her jump. It did look funny to see them

The roughest night of all we were given a special dinner at our table. (I'll send you the menus later) Mr Bowman and I were the only two who managed to eat everything, and instead of feeling worse I felt better.
