Lillian Gest was an avid explorer of the Canadian Rockies. From Merion, Pennsylvania, she visited the Canadian Rockies every summer for sixty years. She was involved in a variety of clubs including the Skyline Trail Hikers of the Canadian Rockies, the Alpine Club of Canada, and the Lake O'Hara Trails Club.
