See 3 sheep which Auber chases up cliff. Lunch on hill overlooking gully near pass.}} + met Jim [Miller?] + Mr. Alfred there building a cabin. Camp Pacha Gilbert Fry has been out here. They saw him near Bear Creek. Tea + a pleasant talk Horses eat salt at cabing + have a great time with it. Camp just beyond flat. Caroline + Jim ride off to find trail + glacier. take gun along. I felt [punk?]

having a bad headache.. Alfred + Miller come to dinner. C.H. + Jim com in afterwards. no luck but trail tomorrow is gorge {hyphenated word: 'gorgeous'} ous. Thunderstorm comes up + all sleep in. Tene {hyphenated word: 'Tenement'} ment bed sites not too good. Mon 10. Rode over shoulder with gorgeous view of Sask. gl. Castleguard. Walk down to glacier camp right at end of tongue of glacier Eat lunch there + watch pack train come down opposite hill. Jim Simp {hyphenated name: 'Simpson'} son brings party over

glacier of three Phila men. Higgins, [S?]ibson + Felix [dash] of Cynwyd + Lansdowne. Arnold + Ernie with them 4 men + 20 horses. Camp on other side of river. Walk down to canyon below camp [dash] natural bridge there. Climb hill to find lake which we saw from hill but it is on the other side of river. bathe in stream near [camp?] on. Ride hom bareback on Tex. M.S on 22. Ellen on Roxie [dash] Pictures of bareback riders. Jim + Caroline return from excursion over glacier

after dinner read "The Smiths" with Florence till the men came over river Talk + have cocoa. Sleep in {sic: 'in'} little tepee. Tues 11. Start for glacier 9:30 Go up on right crossing river first. Up side of mor {hyphenated word: 'moraine'} aine leading horses over rough trail of loose stones + boulders. Pack train follows [dash] the men leading each horse. Go on to glacier, horses slipping + sliding + often falling to knees. Gravel over ice is very slippery. Go off

ice + up moraine again Then on to ice once more [dash] Crossing [about?} to avoid crevasses. Lunch on medial moraine while Jim skips around to find best way across. Quite cold + wear mack {hyphenated word: 'mackinaw'} inaw. Take many pictures Come off at Lake where the water is much lower than last year. Awful mud + some of the horses go in deep. Ride to camp with pack. Charlie walks. [Bonar?] pretty tired [dash] Camp same as last year. Swim below in creek [dash] late
