all day. Bet between Florence + Caroline against Caty + I that it will be clear + sparkling tomorrow. Louise teaches me Russian Bank. She has won 6 out of 7 games. Crowd climbs up C.G. to left + goes over glacier in afternoon. I stay home as I went yesterday [dash] Bonar sick again. Sun 16 Pack up + leave 10:35. Louise feels rotten. Walk down Castleguard River I drove Tex in front of me + brought up the rear [dash] Fords galore. Pass

Last gasp camp + eat brunch on log before Last gasp. Have bannock + jam at Canyon at 3:45 where we stayed 55 minutes It tasted mighty good. Then rode past the mud [hole?] + several nearly went in. Jim + Charlie both swam their horses in a [hole?] when we met the pack. Uncle Harry + Hope nearly go over horses head at place where Billis jumped to land last year.

Pass place where I went in with many comments. Camp at Graveyard {above the line: 'at 7 pm.'} which is where Pinto Pass trail comes in. Frank + Shorty got in yesterday + Shorty just got back from the North Fork. Jack Brewster's party (six, I think) are camped down there [dash] Tenement up + we pile in Big Tepee + a little tepee pitched. Late dinner very good and cocoa later in big tepee Tenement talks and laughs till late. Louise talks in her sleep.

Mon 17 [... T] late for breakfast. Tex wanders off + Ellen on Roxie + I on Big Colt wrangle him. Big Colt is tall + Jim's stirrups not short so [my hair?] came down But it was fun. Left Grave {hyphenated word: 'Graveyard'} yard camp 9:40. coming by river flats, then by trail into woods, where we wandered in + out between the trees + the river went silently + swiftly along to our right. Saw cow + calf moose in river. Auber saw them as they came

out on our side, chased them back + forth until they finally got out on the far side of the river. Logs on the trail through the woods afford fine jumping. Tenement except Tooney conspire to ride front back of Jim + succeed quite well. Lunch about 1 1/2 mi. above North Fork camp site Then came down trail in woods by camp on Jack Brewster + party camped on our old site They had gone to glacier Lake + only cook +
