discussion Tues 18. swim the horses but have a hard time to find deep enough water for [grie..o.d?] but they do swim a stroke or two. There is nothing to climb as Murchison is across the Mistaya Wilson across the Sask R. + Sarbach pretty far. "Field Day" with Tug o war etc in aft. Tenement vs others. [Twonibly, Bert?] + Frank on our side. Played sardines after supper + forfeits. Barbara hides on river bank + I found her first + almost fell in.

Wed 19. Rode up Mistaya River through woods, lunching at small pond above river. Murchison range is to left all morning. Pass good horse feed and leave Dynamite there to recoup. Cut down through timber to left at Wildfowl or Water {hyphenated word: 'Waterfowl'} fowl Lake + camp near second lake. Deep ford over Mistaya River. Photo pack coming through shallower ford further down. Caroline rides Jims horse down stream + swims him.

Ellen, Caroline + I swim + return to camp, crossing several small streams on logs. Sleep in cheese box for first time as no other tent is up. Bridge and large fire in front of tent. Walk to lake w. {vertical text: 'Tenementers'?} Thurs 20. Lay over at Water fowl Lake [dash] Caroline, Ellen, Made {hyphenated name: 'Madelaine'} laine, Mr. T. Jim, Charlie + I climb peak with 2 turrets to left, no water till we reach spring at end of [burnt?] [timber?] + shale climb. Lunch there + rock climb begins. very rotten rock

+ loose boulders. Climb one turret + decide to leave the top for some one else. One exciting {illegible word} where we dangled on the rope coming down. Come home with Charlie + Mr. T. [dash] Fine going down shale but someone was playing jack straws in the burnt timber. Scare up a blue grouse. Wash + some swim in lake which is very cold. Dinner + bridge. High wind + cheese box flaps all night. hot + smoky [dash] sleep very little Fri 21 [Greenwood?] + Red Robin

missing but we got off at 10 [dash] 10:30. Ride through woods occasionally coming out on river + river flats. Woods of spruce with mustache moss on them. Rain at lunch + after. Some sit on table in woods which suddenly col {hyphenated word: 'collapsed'} lapsed to ground. No hurts + many laughs. Got to camp a little after two. Raining. Nap in little tepee. Dinner with soup Nice camp. good

ground surrounded by spruce trees. open beyond with good horse feed. Small stream but good water [dash] Big Tepee going up + Tenement parks there. other side who lost Field Day are getting up a party + everything is quite mys {hyphenated word: 'mysterious'} terious. We think we will dress up as men + Bert + Frank + [Twonibly?] as girls to go to the show. I will be a girl too to even things up. Cocoa in big tepee + to bed in the beginning of a snow {hyphenated word: 'snowstorm'} storm Sat 22. There is a foot of snow +

the tepee door is snowed up. Jim makes a fire for us. Charlie has all the snow he wants in the winter he says. The woods are lovely. It snows all day up to 16 inches. The play is off. Frank went all the way to Water {hyphenated word: 'Waterfowl'} fowl Lake after the horses which are mostly It is a good day to stay in. A large fire in front of the cheese boxes [Serenade?] {illegible word} + have big snow fight

Sun 23 It is clearing + the sun almost out. Got the [underlined blank space?] Some walk to Peyto Lake which is not far across the open meadow in front of us + go up a hill to the right. Caroline Madelaine Florence + I walk over in the afternoon Mt Paterson[sic] is seen beyond [dash] Barbette glacier. The lake lies at the front of the {illegible word} + we walked out on a point which was quite pretty

I decided not to go as I was tired + not too well. Fri 28. Ellen + Marg climb Aberdeen. Several of us ride to Saddleback climb Fairview down Sheol Valley to Paradise to Giant Steps where we met the climbers with horses + then home. Florence went to Banff + got beautiful mocassins + other things Indian. Caroline is going hunting
