June 27 - 1930. Friday 3pm train to N.Y.C. Hotel [Perera] Roxy's in pm - with Ma [&] Dad. June 28 - 1930 - Saturday. Elwood over on 7am train. Dad and I to grand Central Art galleries then to S.S. Leviathan, Pier 86. foot of W.46th St. Baggage consists of one large suitcase each (3) 1 black suitcase for bottles, 1 carryall for shoes. 1, hatbox, my duffle - steamer trunk. Small bag of BHG. for passports etc. My camera (movie) umbrellas [&] ice ax - Caroline [Huimau] [&] Crick [Aruesting] to see us off. Sail at noon D.S.T. Packages [&] greetings. 1. Friday, July 4 - Disembarked at Cherbourg Breakfasted about seven,supposedly later. Off in first tender about 8pm. Met by Bartlett - Dixon agent and passed customs there in Cherbourg easily. Train to Paris at 9:10am about. Lunch on train with Mrs [Hesty] (a Pittsburgh woman, married to Swiss and living in Basle) Arrived Paris at 2:46pm. Met by Mr. Armfield of Bartlett and put in taxi for Hotel Chatha[ru] Dinner at Chath[aru], not too good on Rue S[cribe] block from Place de l'opera. Taxi out to [Bors] home in evening Saturday July 5 - In Paris - headache and sick. Stayed in bed till dinner at Cafe de la Paix. Leave on 10pm train to Geneva - upper berth in compartment with [Arte] Dad having single.

Sunday - July 6 - 1930. Arrived Geneva at 8am. Hotel Beau Rivage - two lovely communicating rooms overlooking Quai du Mont Blanc. [F]ountain playing only on Sunday. Rest. Dad went to English church. Walk in evening over bridge over Rhone. Monday July 7- 1930 - Walk around little park near hotel. I walked along Quai [&] visited Parc Mon Repos - delightful place with lovely trees {carat:'especially yews'} [&]birds. Afternoon w. Ma [&] Dad back to Repos in [f.ac..e], to Parc de la Perle, Jardin Botanique, [&] Labor Institute of League of Nations. Tuesday - [fracie] around town visiting places of interest - including Calvin's {carat:'(Auditoire)'} church and Rudoepl[..] Topffer statue ([M].P.G has Journeys in [z]ig - [z]ag) Bad cold developed yesterday and we loafed rest of day.
