the men came over river
Talk + have cocoa. Sleep

Tues 11. Start for glacier 9:30
Go up on right crossing
river first. Up side of mor {hyphenated word: 'moraine'}
aine leading horses over
rough trail of loose stones
+ boulders. Pack train
follows [dash] the men leading
each horse. Go on to
glacier, horses slipping
+ sliding + often falling
to knees. Gravel over ice
is very slippery. Go off
