In afternoon we took the horses to the alp lands across the creek. I rode Patches as [T...erville?] didnt go. Climbed up ridge to left + walked along ridge + up to two summits. Strongest wind I ever felt. Saw sheep + goats. Got down out of wind by getting little below ridge. On return, we rode along side of mountain in loose fine shale + through meadow of flowers, purple fleabane (or are they [aster?] + arnicas. Charades in evening. Saskatchewan

with bucket, mocassins, Mt Robson + other words Charlie returns with Auber. Very windy. All night + tenement sways + flaps. I slept in alone but didnt sleep till late. Tues 4 Queenie acted up this morning when Hope tried to wrangle Patches + Greenwood who had wandered off. Rode down from Pass. stony + muddy Lunch by little stream on trail. Ride through burnt timber afterwards

+ Greenwood jumped a lot. Came in at end of Maligne Lake. Tene {hyphenated word: 'Tenementers'} menters stayed back to gallop + got in last. Jim dropped behind + Barbara + Caroline galloped violently to catch up to him thinking he was ahead + out of sight. Camp at same place on lake very [misty?]. Charlie reported a fire at Medicine Lake. Probably in the heavy timber there. Caty reports we wont have cocoa + there is some commotion till

it arrives. Wed 5 Rode up river to Pass + down [Poligne?] to old camp where we had the wedding. Tex is awful slow. Jump some logs after lunch but not many. Took picture from below Pass. [Poligne?] side. Dynamite gives out + is left behind. Perhaps they'll send back for him. Rainy good deal of day. Ellen has joined the Tenement. Jim brings in the cocoa to us with

biscuits + honey. The tenement is to have a song to John Browne's Body Louise slides off her bed at night + Caty gets kind of wet. [Mine?] pretty good. Thurs 6. Rain + we are called late. Clears after break {hyphenated word: 'breakfast"} fast. ate 5 pancakes which is the record this year. The outfit is short of horses now + Jim decides to walk. Caroline leads the gang. Lunch at stream just before going down hill to cabin. Get in to old camp place above Poboktan R

fifty minutes after Jim who took the lower trail by the river Slept out as Tenement was on bare ground + dirty. Started reading "The Smiths" out loud with Florence. She reads two chapters + then I read till dark. [Toonerville?] + Caty make candy. Slept pretty well but heavy frost. Fri. 7 Frank + Charlie are taking turns walking. Dynamite has been salvaged. thin that every bone shows + passes go pretty bad with him. Horses are missing again but come in shortly. Ride along trail for little while + then go up Jonas shoulder. High alp lands for some distance Take several pictures Stop at highest point + climb to top of shoulder. Then down to water + lunch. Big Colt misbehaves + everybody go secretly{in parentheses: '(?)'} into hysterics. Ride down to timberline +

camp on Ewe Creek. Florence + I read in early evening, then Caroline + I climb shoulder behind camp It is lovely there in the twilight. Fine view of Cataract Pass + Corral is seen further down. [land?] shoulder. Then up loose stones to pretty solid rocks + then climb. Roped twice in places not difficult but a big drop if one should fall. No water on climb + we get pretty thirsty. Come down pretty steep slope to Brazeau. Two moose are grazing below us a lot of the time. Fine view of Nigel + Sask. gl. region also Cataract Pass + mt we climbed there last year. Lemonade

on the Brazeau which tasted pretty good. Jim speeds home with Caroline + M.S. running {in parentheses: '(?)'} to keep up + the rest of us trailing behind.
